about

Wild Edges is a curated collection of soundtrack work produced by Åyusp, for the Wild Edges project, part of The University of Sheffield’s “Festival Of The Mind 2020”.

Wild Edges combines visual art, music, film and archaeology, in an evocation of the rich landscape history of Gardom's Edge, on the Peak District's Eastern Moors. Gardom’s Edge is a landscape where the human past endures, altered but decipherable in standing stones, rock art, cairns, field walls and crooked oaks. We can see and experience deep time, and confront humanity's changing relations with the environment, from kinship to capital.

Åyusp’s music was used in a combination of installation, video and also embedded into an interactive 360 panoramic tour of the Gardom’s Edge landscape. The panoramic tour can be experienced by visiting the link:

Inspired by carrying a copy of “The Pearl” around on his Walkman whilst on archaeological adventures in Kenya in the mid 1980s, Graham dedicates “All Rhodes Lead to Rock Art” to the memory of Harold Budd (1936 - 2020).
